Neighborhood Turkey Trot for Thanksgiving
This Turkey Trot 5K will be a suuuuper informal, fun, family-friendly run around the Historic Grapevine neighborhood. Some additional details:
- The race will kick off at roughly 8AM from outside our driveway
- The course will be marked out with some chalk along the route
- Kids, bikes, strollers, pups, etc. are all welcome (again, suuuuper informal)
- We won't have bibs, chips, or timers (reminder.. suuuuuuper informal!)
- If you're driving from outside the neighborhood, please park at one of the following locations (all very short walks); please do not park on streets in the neighborhood.
- Grapevine Faith Elementary School (730 E Worth St, Grapevine, TX 76051)
- Northwest Crossing Center (445 E. Northwest Highway, Grapevine, TX 76051)
- Grapevine First Baptist (301 E Texas St, Grapevine, TX 76051)
- We won't have medals, or winners, or podiums, and it'll be officially a 5k because our watches say so (but USA Track & Field certified, it is not..haha).
- It will be a ton of fun with lots of community and hopefully the start of a new tradition to become a part of the holiday season in Grapevine.
What was envisioned as a tiny little get together has turned into much bigger of an event for our local community–which is cool!!–we'd love for folks who run/walk to donate what you can to our local community charity, GRACE Grapevine, and/or bring some canned goods on race day. Looking forward to meeting so many new folks and to sharing what's going to be a fun run around the neighborhood!
