The Thomas E. Smith Foundation Courage Cup hockey tournament, powered by the Boston Bruins Foundation, will be a first-of-its-kind charity fundraiser at TD Garden. The inaugural event will be held in September 2025 during SCI Awareness Month.
Event details
Four teams, each with sixteen players
Each team will be coached by one of the following Boston Bruins legends:
Bob Sweeney + Zdeno Chara + Ray Bourque + Andrew Raycroft
Each player will receive a custom keepsake jersey, socks, and a gift bag
Player shoot-around before each game
Two games followed by a championship game Reception lunch to follow at the TD Garden
Opportunities for exclusive access, photos, and meet and greets with the coaches
Player fundraising
Each player will be responsible for fundraising $5,000 and given a customized fundraising webpage powered by the Boston Bruins Foundation team. Players may source donations from personal networks, corporate sponsorships, employee matching programs, donor- advised funds, or personal contributions. TESF and the Boston Bruins Foundation will provide ongoing support for players as they fundraise. Coaches will also encourage and incentivize player fundraising in the months leading up to the Courage Cup.
