Honoring Rick Pinto by supporting the American Heart Association
Rick "Gremlin" Pinto
9/30/1967 – 1/13/2018
Rick Pinto’s story is one of transformation, love, and legacy. Born in Somerville, New Jersey, Rick dedicated his life to his family, his faith, and his community. After years of focusing on others, Rick made the courageous decision to reclaim his health—not just for himself, but for those he loved most. He traded his riding mower for a push mower, joined F3 (where he earned the name “Gremlin”), and began a journey that took him from his first 5K to completing a marathon in less than a year.
Rick’s commitment to fitness was matched only by his devotion as a husband, father, coach, and church leader. He inspired everyone around him to live with purpose and heart. Tragically, Rick passed away following an 18-mile training run in January 2018, but his legacy of perseverance and positive impact lives on. Each year, his friends and family honor him with a workout called “The Gremlin.”
Today, we invite you to honor Rick’s memory by supporting the American Heart Association. Your donation helps fund life-saving research, education, and advocacy—empowering families to live longer, healthier lives. Let’s run with perseverance, just as Rick did, and make a difference together.
Donate in Rick’s memory. Together, we are champions for heart health.
