Back the Blue

Join us for the Back the Blue Run ,1-Mile Fun Run, 5k, and 10k race, a family-friendly community event dedicated to strengthening the relationship between law enforcement and the communities we proudly serve. Whether you're an experienced runner, a casual walker, or simply looking for a fun way to spend the day with family and friends, everyone is welcome. 
We are excited to add a 5k Ruck category. Rucking is walking with a weighted backpack, combining cardio and strength straining for a full body workout. We are partnering with the Garlic City Ruckers who will be weighing the ruck packs before the race. 
The Back the Blue Run is more than just a race- its a celebration of service, unity, and the people who make our communities stronger. Together we honor the dedication of first responders while encouraging positive relationships between law enforcement and the public through fitness, fun, and fellowship. 
Join us Saturday, November 7, 2026 at Christmas Hill Park and be part of a tradition that brings our community together- one step at a time.
About the Course:
The route will begin at Christmas Hill Park (Ranch Side) and continues along the Uvas Creek Levee Trail. There will be visibly marked turnaround points for runners. The course is mainly flat and paved, offering a beautiful scenic route.

Back the Blue Run offers various levels of sponsorships. Each Sponsorship Tier provides different specifications from social media recognition to your business logo on the race medal and shirt. Please email backthebluegilroyca@gmail.com for information on sponsorship opportunities. 
Whether you choose to donate supplies, services, or financial support, every contribution is sincerely appreciated. Your generosity helps make Back the Blue Run a success and allows us to continue strengthen relationships between law enforcement and the communities we serve. 
 
IMPORTANT DETAILS:

Early registration ends Monday August 31. Price increase after August 31. 
Registration deadline for T-shirts is Friday September 25
Final registration Friday October 2. Shirt size not guaranteed. 
Sponsorship deadline is Friday September 4 for businesses with logos on shirt and medals.
Sponsorship deadline is September 25 for LEO agencies, vendors, or businesses with no logo on shirts/medals.
Strollers allowed but please start towards the back of the group to allow space.

Race Packet Options
T-shirts and bibs will be available for in person pickup on Friday November 6 at the parking lot north of the Gilroy Police Department at 3PM-7PM. Participants may also pick up t-shirts and bibs race day check-in beginning at 7:00AM on Saturday November 7 at Christmas Hill Park (Ranch Side).
Participants may pick up race packets for other registered runners with approval and verification from the registrant.
