2026 UNC SHAC 5K

UNC’s SHAC (Student Health Action Coalition) Clinic is the oldest student-run clinic in the nation, helping medically underserved populations in Chapel Hill and surrounding areas. Join us in celebrating the SHAC’s 59th anniversary at the SHAC 5K & Health Fair on Sunday, October 4th!
Last year, we had over 150 runners and walkers registered to support UNC's SHAC Clinic and so many amazing sponsors! 
100% of the proceeds will go towards SHAC’s free health services for our uninsured and underinsured neighbors in Chapel Hill, Carrboro, and Durham. Whether you sign up for the 5K or donate – your help and support is greatly appreciated!
If you will not be participating in the event, click here to donate. The 5K starts and finishes at 7:30 am at the UNC Campus Y Courtyard located at 180 E Cameron Ave in Chapel Hill.  Free parking is available anywhere on campus.  Parking is also available on Franklin Street.
 The entry fee is $25 if registered by September 10th.  Beginning September 11th, the entry fee will increase to $30 up to and including race day. The entry fee includes a t-shirt with sizes guaranteed to all those registered by September 10th.  After that date the shirts will be given out “as available.”
Pre-registered entrants can pick up their race packets and late entrants can register beginning at 7 am on race day. Prizes will be given to the overall first, second, and third place male and female finishers, as well as to the top non-binary finisher. Prizes will also be awarded to the top finisher in each of the following age groups: 19 and under, 20-29, 30-39, 40-49, 50-59, and 60 and over.
