Kathy Sh-Boom, the greatest elephant to ever live in the Quad Cities, is still sorely missed. We miss her a lot (sore about, as previously mentioned) and we decided to celebrate her unwavering legacy with the first ever Kathy Sh-Boom's Annual New Years Day Memorial Pizza Party & One-Mile Run. We will all meet at the Raccoon Motel and the run will happen just the way this hefty pachyderm would have wanted it :: with participants downing a slice of pizza at stations every quarter mile, on the downtown Davenport bike path. This out and back course will allow you to showcase your mettle in the face of cheese and pavement. The faster you eat, the faster you're done! The overall male and female runners will reap cash prizes and more from their admirers at Raccoon Motel, Running Wild and Lopiez. Space is limited so sign up today and be there for year one!!! No better way to start the new year than with pizza and a silly little run! The race starts at 3 pm, snow and cold or shine!! All conditions welcome.
