Runplugged Track Invitational — Beat the Seattle Freeze! ❄️🔥
Date: December 20th, 2025
Time: 9:00 AM
Cost: $20 per athlete
Location: Kentridge High School Track – Kent, WA
Hosted by: Runplugged via Raise the Bar

About the Event
The Runplugged Track Invitational is a casual, community-focused track meet designed to bring together runners, triathletes, and endurance athletes from across the region to beat the Seattle Freeze and make new connections. While there will be plenty of friendly competition, ALL paces are welcome whether you are a sub-6 miler or just want to walk/run with company. This will be an "unplugged run" – no headphones, no fancy timing equipment, just old-school camaraderie and cheering each other on. To keep with the old school feel, the theme of the race will be 70s-80s classic track – think Prefontaine era: short shorts or colorful tights, big hair/mustaches, bright colors.

Whether you’re racing for a PR or just want to feel the energy of a group track event, Runplugged is the perfect way to end the 2025 season.

How it Works

Main event: 1600m (one mile) race, broken up into 3-4 heats.

**We are adding the 2 Mile event for those that are part of the Grand Prix series, or those that want an extra challenge.**

Team relays: 4×400 & 4×200 – the real magic will happen during the team relays after the mile heats: runners are encouraged to sign up for 1-2 relays by forming a team ahead of time or meeting solo runners at the meet. The relays will be the 4×400 and 4×200.

To enter a heat for the mile or to create your relay team, fill out the form here: https://forms.gle/N2wrpw2tUARNRkbu5

The form contains a link to a spreadsheet to help organize your relay team, which you can also access here: Relay Team Organization

Don't know your time? You can also change your heat day of the race.

Schedule:

8:45-9:00 AM — Check-in + Warm-up
9:15 AM — Group Dynamic Stretching

Main Events (Self-Seeded)

Depending on number of participants, there will be 2-3 heats for the Mile, and one for the 2 Mile. The 2 Mile start may be combined with one of the mile starts – an finalized schedule will be provided on race morning once all registrations are in!
9:30 AM-10:30AM — Mile heats + 2 Mile

Relay Events
10:30 AM — 4×200m Mixed Relay
10:40 AM — 4×400m Mixed Relay

10:50 AM — Group Photo & Closing
11:00 AM — Event Ends

Misc Information: Please park in either the track parking lot (lower lot) or any unmarked parking spots at the Kentridge High School. Carpooling with your relay team is encouraged! Please note there are only two porta-potties at the track, so it is recommended you perform any morning movements before arrival. 😉

We will be running rain, snow, or shine, and handle the elements as they come. Please come prepared for all weather conditions. There are bleachers for you to store bags and sit and watch, and the outside lane of the track will be reserved for warming up/cooling down.
