Join us in wonderful Riverbend Park for our annual Green Run – our race to save the environment and empower a cleaner brighter future! Compete in a 5k or 1 mile race (run or walk)! Enjoy a nature's Treasure seek that any participant may explore after the 5K or 1 mile race. The nature's Treasure seek course offers interesting information about our environment. Participants search for information stations and put together a clue upon completion.
Don’t miss out on all the fun! The Green Run is surrounded by all the beauty of the Riverbend Park ecosystem.. A naturalist will be presenting information and a few live animals after the races! Free face paintings will be available by Sunshine Painters.
The Green Run is presented by the Partnership for Environmental Education (PFEE), an all volunteer nonprofit organization whose mission is to provide vital resources to the Jupiter Environmental Research & Field Studies Academy (JERFSA). JERFSA is a stellar 4 year public high school environmental science "choice program" open to students in Palm Beach County. JERFSA has been preparing our next generation of leaders in environmental science since 1993.
Through their participation in the JERFSA program, students are continually giving back to our community on many different immediate levels from their involvement in marine life surveying, to the reintroduction of native plant species, to the construction of a wetlands project. In addition, students are also individually required to provide extensive community service hours over their four years in the program.
