Race Overview:

UNM Black and Gold Student Organization is hosting the second annual Norwegian Foot March. This race will cover 30km in the beautiful Bosque along the Rio Grande in Albuquerque, NM. This event directly supports the UNM Black and Gold Organization  

 

Participants will be required to carry a military ruck sack (hiking backpack) with a minimum dry weight of 11kg/24lbs. Water cannot be used as official weight. Ruck sacks will be weighed prior to and after completion of race. Military participants must also wear a military uniform including approved military boots, civilian participants must wear long pants and boots. To qualify for the Norwegian Foot March Badge and completion certificate on behalf of the Norwegian Embassy participants must finish the race within the listed times and meet the weight and uniform requirements.

Check-in starts at 5:00am and the race starts at 6:30am

Participants will receive a race medal and if you qualify the Norwegian Foot March Badge

Please indicate in your registration how many times you have qualified for the Norwegian Foot March in the past.

You are able to complete one foot march every calendar year that is recorded by the Norwegian Embassy that counts to your qualification record.

 

1st time qualification = bronze badge

2nd – 4th time qualification = sliver badge

5th time qualification = gold badge
