The 2025 Turkey Trot is presented by Kniffen Homes and New Paltz Health & Nutrition.
The Family of New Paltz Turkey Trot is a 5K run and walk held annually Thanksgiving morning to support Family of New Paltz’s Food Pantry and Crisis Services. Family of New Paltz is a crisis intervention center located in the heart of New Paltz since 1975. Family provides a myriad of services, including a 24-hour hotline and text line, food pantry, counseling, support groups and shelters for adults, adolescents and victims of domestic violence.
This year's event will include the famous Mashed Potato Fun Run, which is free for kids 12 and under, and for the more serious runners, our USATF certified 5K course will include chip timed start and finish. As part of the package provided by the chip-timing company, photos of individual runners crossing the finish line will be available for upload at no cost. Age groups this coming year will be in ten-year increments, and medals will be awarded for 1st, 2nd and 3rd in each age group, with separate awards for male and female.
