Taconic Road Runners FDR Park Cross County Run

November 9 Cross Country Race Now a Fun Run and Club Meeting
On Sunday morning, November 9, at 10:00 AM, the club takes to the trails of Yorktown’s FDR Park for a special fall event: The Taconic Cross Country Fun Run and Club Meeting. Originally conceived as an official race, with individual and team results and awards, our registration numbers have been low; so while we’ve decided not to run the official race, we’re going to set up the course — and we’ll still set up a clock — and enjoy a beautiful fall morning trail run. 

All participants will receive a pair of commemorative running gloves.
With hot drinks and refreshments in front of the fire after the run, we hope those of you who weren’t sure you were ready for a cross country race will join us in seeing this event as November’s club meeting! New members and friends of the club are welcome to join us.
In recognition of the club’s continued association with FDR State Park — it’s been our “home course” since it was Mohansic State Park, we’re still going to make a donation to the park following the event.
The course starts and finishes across the flat fields and picnic areas in the park’s main western section near the Taconic State Parkway, just a few steps from that warming fire. The 6K course features almost 2 miles of FDR’s beloved trail system, with the majority of the course run on soft surfaces. (Runners should park in Parking Lot 1.)
