The Canal Tavern 5k Run & Walk is a chip-timed race along the scenic Ohio & Erie Canal Towpath Trail between Fort Laurens, Bolivar and the Canal Lands Park trailhead in Zoar. After the race, there will be an Octoberfest-style party on the patio of the Canal Tavern of Zoar. Proceeds from this race will benefit the development and maintenance of the Towpath Trail at Canal Lands Park in Tuscarawas County. Sign-in and registration will be held near the Canal Lands Park trailhead and the Canal Tavern of Zoar. A shuttle will depart from the Canal Tavern at 12:15 PM and 12:30 PM to take people to Fort Laurens (starting line).
