Up Up and Away 5k

Join us for the return of the Up Up & Away 5K on August 22nd!
This beloved 5K has been one of Northeast Oklahoma’s most popular runs since its debut in 2019. After the Muskogee Hot Air Balloon Festival was canceled in 2025, Muskogee Parks & Recreation is bringing it back bigger and better in 2026 — and the Up Up & Away 5K is the perfect way to experience it!
Presented by Saint Francis Hospital, and hosted in partnership with the Muskogee Running Club and I:40 Race Service, this event combines a fantastic run with the magic of a hot air balloon festival.
The festival (and to a lesser extent the run) is weather-dependent, especially wind conditions. But on a clear, calm morning, you’ll run through the stunning sight of colorful hot air balloons launching and floating all around Hatbox Events Park.

Packet Pickup/Registration: –          There will be a Packet Pickup/Registration on Friday August 21st from 3:00 to 6:00 at the Muskogee Parks & Recreation office at Spaulding Park on the corner of Okmulgee and Eastside Blvd.  If you can't get your packet then, you can get your packet the morning of the event at the start/finish tent at Hatbox.  
Registration Prices: –          5k early bird is only $25, which goes through July 4th.  $30 after July 4th and $35 the day of the event–          Fun Run early bird is only $20.  $25 after that and the day of the event
