Run for Alexei

 Seven years have passed since we lost Alexei, yet his absence is something we carry with us every single day.
One of the deepest commitments of my life is to keep Alexei present — not just in memory, but in the way we live, the words we speak, and the actions we take. Run for Alexei was born from that commitment. It is my way of honoring who he was and everything he believed in, and I hope this year you'll make it part of your own tradition too.
This is a virtual event, which means you can join us from wherever you are — walking, running, or biking at your own pace, on your own terms, anytime between September 4 and September 14, 2026. All that matters is that you move, and that you do it for a good cause.
This year, we are raising funds for BellRinger, a community dedicated to advancing cancer research breakthroughs at Georgetown University's Lombardi Comprehensive Cancer Center — a place that holds deep meaning for our family. Alexei's own treatment began at Lombardi, and he gave five extraordinary years of his life to research at Georgetown's Department of Microbiology and Immunology, earning his doctorate and working as a research scientist along the way. Supporting this cause feels like the most fitting tribute to the curious, dedicated, and generous person he was.
